The letter:
My beloved darling,
It is so sad and empty in the little house without you, I miss you quite too terribly. After you left I remained in your room a little trying to be brave, though not succeeding. After my bath I prayed long and read the whole Akathist to the Kazan Mother of God and then got calmer. It took ages before I got to sleep. Baby Sweet came in his dressing gown to wake me and drew up the curtains.
Had the masseuse, the head is better, but the whole body aches very much — the weather has also to do with it. So sad you are not here, not to hear your men's voices is also melancholy.
Such a storm this night, and heavy showers from time to time. I hope you have it finer for the shooting. Ella sent me a kind, affectionate little letter, knowing I would feel lonely this morning. The doctor comes, so must stop and finish after.
Very tenderest kisses from your very own little,
Wify.
