Alix's 1894 dress

These formal photos of Alix were taken in August 1894. An image of the dress she wore, which for years was believed to be lost, appears to have surfaced online in mid-2017; I found them on Alena Dufkova's Imperial Russia blog on Tumblr (source says year as 1895). The dress, which was sewn in Frankfurt, Germany in 1894 and entered the Hermitage Museum's collections in 1950, is also featured in a short documentary about Alexandra's dresses as well as those of her mother-in-law, Marie Feodorovna.
