Tuesday.
2. Januar
Breakfast at 9. Tried on. Wrote letters, painted. Went shopping with Gretchen. Luncheon at 1½, & then dressed & went with Ernie & the Ladies to the Alte Palais for our Tanzprobe (skirtdancing.) difficult, but most amusing. At 6 New Year's Dinner at the Schloss: Cercle, — changed & art in Ernie's room & took tea. —

Breakfast. Tried on. Painted & wrote. Bitterly cold wind, but sunny. Singing lesson. Luncheon. Bitterly cold. Drove. — Probe in Alte Palais — & tea. — Played 8 hands, with Ernie, Grete — Mino. Head washed — bed. —

Saturday. —
28. April
Cold & rainy day. After having breakfasted with A. Marie, were suddenly called to Grdmama to breakfast. Wrote whilst others in Church. — After luncheon in pouring rain we 2 Ella & Sandra went shopping, tea at Ella's 5. — Then came the Russian messenger with letters, eggs, immense brooch from U. Sasha & A. Minny, & the order of st. Katherine. — At 6 we went to Schloss to say goodbye to Grdmama who left for England. — Sat with Nicky after supper till night [illegible]. At 12½ to bed. —

Sunday.
Russian Easter. —
29. April
Breakfast at 9½.

After luncheon went out driving in the rain with Nicky (Caesar), followed Ella & A. Marie. At 6 they all went to short service, whilst I wrote. For supper all the Ladies & the Ehepaar Kotzebue came & C. Lannsdorff. Then to the Theatre "Rank der Sabinerinnen." Sat to-gether till 12. —
