JANUAR 7
Monday
Darmstadt
Papa went out shooting. Ernie in bed, because not well. At 9 Breakfast. Then lessons. After that payed Aunt Julie a visit, with Wilhelmine.

Lessons again. Headache. Luncheon at 2. Saw Gretchen's younger Sister in the morning. Drove in the Taune with Gretchen.

Lessons, & then to bed with raging headache.

Very cold out to-day.

In the evening it snowed a little. — Papa returned at 9.15.

Finished the exciting Novell: "Il Romano", by [illegible].

Tuesday.
Darmstadt
At 8 o'clock came Prf. Sell till 9.15. — Then I went to the Herrngarten with Gretchen. Ernie scarcely better; bad throat, but we trust he may be soon better. He stays to bed for the day. Papa out shooting in the Park. — Lessons.

At 1½ lunched at A. Julie's, with her, Victoria, Louis, Sandro, Marie, Gustav, Alexi, Victor, Edda, & Adele B: — At 3 I drove with Wilhelmine. Lessons. Tea, From 5-6 Frl. von Bechtold for music. —
Sat in Papa's room. Then Sandro came to him, I played the Piano. He stayed for Supper, & told us lots about his boyhood, & scenes on of the war. —

Ernie the same. —

JANUAR 9
1/° warmth.
Wednesday
Darmstadt
Breakfast at nine. Ernie no perticular good night, still had throat. Will stay to bed for the day. — I went for a walk with Wilhelmino in the Scheppalln.

At 11.20 Frl. Textor. — At 2 luncheon, to wh. Bernhard of Weimar came. Then drove in the Taune with Gretchen. Read to Ernie.

Played the Piano with Gretchen, then had tea with her at 5½. Wrote, & arranged things.

Supper at 8. —

warm.
rainy.
Thursday.
Darmstadt.
Breakfast at 9. Ernie a little better, but cannot yet leave his rooms.

Drove with Gretchen in the Buchwald. Papa out shooting. — Lessons.
Victoria, Louis dined with Aunt. Luncheon. Drove with Wilhelmine in the Taune. Toni came for reading & working lesson. Preparation. Tea. —

Read to Ernie. Played Piano with Louis. Supper. Cut out for Scrapbook. Then Papa went to bed, & I read to Ernie. To bed past 10. —
