Feb. 18. 1917
A tender kiss fr. yr. own old Mama.
Thank you my sweet Childy for yr. note. I quite well understood yr. mood when you said you did not care — I am often like that myself, don't want to bothers, & tho' I wish a thing will just do all so as not to get it. Such is foolish humanity.
I saw you looked tearful, & as not alone banged you about as was sure a caress would make you cry. Am happy we had the nice drive. Sleep well. +
