Monday
23. April
Weather much finer & warmer than at Coburg & all Flowers in bloom. After breakfast 9½ N. [?] came to my room, gave me lovely brooch. 10½ drove all in the Steiner[illegible] to the Rosenhöhe with Flowers. — Picked lilacs on to Kranichstein went [illegible] the house & garden. — Came back for luncheon - family. — [illegible] were photoed in garden. — Saw M. [illegible] at 8 had to leave Darmstadt. Ernie & Ducky took us to the station. — Arrived at C. at 10½. — Wladimir & Miechen had left. Supped. —
