Thursday
Darmstadt
Breakfast at 9. Then lessons. Luncheon at 2. Papa out shooting. Victoria in bed with bad cold. — At ¼ to 3, drove with the girls to Kranichstein, Ernie followed with Alexi, Av. Frankenberg, Av. Bothener & Ltn. Lepel. —

Delightful. most amusing. Splendid ice. — Returned at 5. Tea, & then read & worked with Toni, as on Thursdays. — [this part in code]. — Went to see the "Waffenschmidt" with Papa, at 6½. Very nice. Theatre full. — Ernie dined with Gruf Bredo. —

To bed at 10. —

Friday
Darmstadt
At 8 Pfr. Sell. Last lesson for now. Breakfast at 9. Tried on. — Went for a turn, Lessons. Luncheon at 2. Skated again with Alexi & the girls in Kranichstein. Wie ein Spiegel, the ice was, only covered with water. Luckily no one fell. Sad to say Goodbye to [this part in code]. — Music lesson with Frl. v. Bechtold 5-6. Tea. Went to the Theatre with Papa. — "Tartuffe" & "Der zebrochene Krug". Charming & most amusing. Gretchen went also. —

Supper 9½. — To bed. —

Quite warm. —

Darmstadt
Breakfast at 9. — Packed. Wrote letters. Played at 4 hands with Ernie. Rested. Worked. Tidied up the drawers tc. — Luncheon at 2. Uncles Came. — Went for a run with Wilhelmine. Filthy out [this part in code]. Wrote. Very buisy. —

Sunday
William's B.D.
Darmstadt
Breakfast at 9. Victoria in bed, as cold worse & neuralgia. Went with Gretchen to the MartinsKirche, & walked home with Toni. Such a croud round the Parade Platz, that one could not see any thing of the Parade. — Then went with Wilhelmine to see Aunt Julie, who had also a bad cold. — On the way home, met Toni again, who had come to bring a Baedecker for Gretchen. — Arranged things. Packed. Rested. Lunched at 2. — Went with Wilhelmine to Fr. v. d. Thil. Then I for a drive in the Buchwald with [illegible]. — I as with Victoria had tea. Baby came, & wanted to go with me to Aunty Ella & [illegible]. — Left past 6. — Gretchen left already all about 1 in the morning. — Many carriages at Frankfurt. Schlafwagen very nice. —

Monday.
Berlin
Arrived at 8½. — Had Breakfast with Papa & Ernie. Washed, & dressed. Henry came. Went through all the splendid Rooms & Säle. Then Charlotte came. Papa & Harry spoke to Irène thr. the telephone. Georg Rudol: came. — Went to Dona. Then everyone to-gether for Luncheon. Stood about then I drove with her, Gaga & Friedrich Leopold to Charlottenburg where we walked a little. Then I went with Papa & Ernie to Empress Augusta, — had a cup of tea there. — Dressed. — Family Dinner. — Stood & sat about. Changed dress. Went down again. Had something to eat, & left all at 11. Schlafwagen as far as the Grenze. —

Baedecker (correct spelling Baedeker) = a travel guidebook named after Karl Baedeker (1801–1859).

Schlafwagen = sleeping carriage.
